Welcome to the Tyakunda District the Land of the Rolling Hills.
Tyakunda District comprises of the following groups.
Taringa Milton Toowong, Indooroopilly, Kenmore, Moggill and ScoutReach.
Tyakunda District covers the western suburbs of Brisbane on the north side of the the Brisbane River. Tyakunda district is named after the Aboriginal word for rolling hills, which depicts the hills in the locality. Tyakanda district was originally formed around 1965, and the first District Commissioner (Acting) was Dr H. E. Young. In 1972, groups from Brisbane West district were absorbed into Tyakunda district. The Tyakunda District badge was designed by Trevor Rees-Thomas a Cub Scout Leader with either the 1st or 3rd Toowong Scout Group.

Tyakunda Trailblazer is returning in 2025 and this time everyone is invited, regardless of district or region. Tyakunda Trailblazer is an annual rogaining competition that is open to all sections from Joeys to Rovers. The event will be run on Sunday 20 July 2025. Applications are now open via the Activity Management System and will close on 22 June 2025.
